Ever seen an unknown address send you a tiny amount (like 0.000001 TRX) or a strange token? It's usually address poisoning.

How the scam works

Scammers generate a fake address whose first and last few characters match an address you often send to. They send you a tiny amount from it so it shows up in your history. Next time you copy an address from your history, you copy the fake one.

How to stay safe

• Never copy addresses from your transaction history. Always copy from the original source (exchange deposit page, the recipient's message, this site).
• Save addresses you use often in your wallet's address book.
• Before sending, check the middle characters too, not just the start and end.
• For a new address, send a small test amount first.

Rental addresses are targets too
